these are the engine codes i'm getting, any help to what these codes mean and possible prices to fix the problem would be greatly appreciated!

43: multiple cylinder misfire. Peak primary circuit current not achieved with the maximum dwell time.

32: an open or shorted condition detected in the EGR solenoid circuit. Possible air/fuel ratio imbalance not detected during diagnosis.

  1. I suggest you take a look at where your EGR valve is and trace its vac lines there should be a black plastis device that has a plug plugged into it and lines running from it to EGR.

You'd not want to buy the EGR valve new bec it be well over 500 bucks and a lot of times you can only purchase this other part with the EGR valve together as a pkg deal.

I'd highly recommend you going to a big do it yourself auto wreckers and look for cars like yours same engine and EGR valve etc and grab a couple of the best looking plastic devices you can find and if possible even grab a EGR valve but I suspect this plastic device is causing your one code problem.

This part is called as I recall on those cars a Transducer by the way.

Your other problem could be related to your ignition coil or system.Try making a diagram and labelling the sparkplug wires and  checking for cracks , bulges or dis-colouring by removing the ignition coil's bolts and visaully checking the whole coils housing.

Basically to me bec 1 of the codes indicates multi missfires that suggests ignition coil to me or a bad connection to the coil and bec the other code indicates short condition exists in solenoid circuit that tells me that ether the EGR valve is sticking or whatever works in conjunction with it that controls its function is faulty 'Transducer"

' A little food for thought" check the EGR valve and see if it has anything plugged into it like a feed plug or wiring harness plugging into EGR valve.Note if no plug connectors on EGR then look for the closes device you can see that is connected to EGR and has a plug in connector on it bec that's probably the reasoning for the sec code not the EGR valve itself at all.

I highly doubt that the EGR valve has any wires plugged into it thus makes you wonder how can the comp read or give you an accurate code when dealing with a EGR valve that has no electronic connections. But if the EGR valve does have a plug in connector then I'd be conducting some meter troubling shooting and maybe changing it and the parts directly related to it's proper functions.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way it's a very common problem that the ignition coils fail on those vehicles especially bec of it's age.I 'd grab the best coil and EGR vaIve etc I could find at the wreckers and try it to see if any codes disappear, plus I might test the coil on your vehicle for resistance readings and then compare the readings at the wreckers.

Keep in mind that although rare sometimes the main comp=ECM can cause failers related to ignition etc either from being faulty or it being internally out of whack or from bad connections or wiring.
