1996 chevy monte carlo runs strong,idles rough

New egr,idle valve,plugs,and wires,first noticed problem soon after my daughter let it run out of gas.225,000 miles on car. Goodwrench told me number 5 cylinder,so I changed all the above.Still idles rough but as soon as you accelerate it runs very strong ,service engine soon light has been on ever since,approx 3,000 miles ago.PS Have'nt changed coil yet?
