1996 mustang cobra how to get more H.P.?

Question

my daughter has a 1996 mustang cobra 4.6L she has a cold air induction system on it already and we were wondering what other bolt ons would give it more hp i don't know much about cars also i was wondering about what it is worth it is a convertible and has 78000 miles and is in excellent condition thank you

At 12 years old and 78K miles it's worth maybe $2500.00.

A dry shot nitrous system.  Easy to install and can add up to 150hp. or as little as 25hp.  Cost is less than $600-800.

wow you have to be the first parent to have ever wanted to see their offspring go faster and faster i have to convince my parents to put anything into my car and only get to do so after threats and warnings the cobra is fast enough it does not need to go faster

don't put a supercharger on it. you will fry your pistons. aluminum heads will give you the most power period, but there pretty expensive. an inexpensive upgrade is new headers new exhaust new intake manifold and a new carburetor. and new high performance ignition system, i like msd. 289's are not to bad on the wallet and easy to work on. don't put a supercharger on a stock motor. trust me ive seen people blow a ton of motors that way. look into summit magazine.

Supercharge. It's just a used car these days. Don't fall into the "It's a classic" trap.

The throttle body and mass air flow could be changed to slightly bigger ones. Also, a custom program from someplace like SCT could make a massive difference.

supercharger or turbo. i have 2 mustangs. 1 has every bolt on that you can get. the other has a turbo. the turbo has way more power for just a few more $'s. 1 more thing that does not get you more power, but does make you go faster is to change the rear gear. i would go with 3.73. your stock gear is a 3.08

the one thing you can do to increase hp for cheap is go with a k&n air filter its good for 5- 10 hp and is under 100 bucks..
