I've been looking for a car for a while now... and i found this car at a toyota dealership... it's really clean with only minor scratches, clean title, accident free, 1996 toyota camry le ...54K MILES!!! and we made a deal for 7000$(out the door price, includes everything)...and my dad is still thinking about it... i think that's the cleanest car ever since i've been looking at used cars around this price range... but then when i got home... i went to kbb and edmunds.com, this car is only worth about 4000$....

so...my question is... is it worth it?should i buy it?

  1. Toyota seems to be a very high price at many dealerships. This is because of the life you get out of them. Personally, as everyone else says this is way too much for this vehicle. I would keep looking. You may have your hopes up, but I promise there is something better for a more reasonable price!!

  2. No. I used to work at a dealership and they probably gave the person who traded it in 3,000 for it. 54,000 miles isn't bad, but the car is 12 years old! 7,000 is just way too much. I would agree with edmunds.com.

  3. no and dealers raise up the price alot over private market

  4. the car is 12 years old so I would go with the $4000, your other quote is way too high, keep looking around, and also try craig's list they have very reasonable prices on there.

  5. Dealers always mark up. Make a copy of the kelley blue book value from the website, and take it to the dealer. The $7000 includes dealer prep fees, tax, title, etc. Ask the dealer to waive the doc fees, talk him down. Be firm. Tell him, "do you want to make a cash sale, or not?"

  6. For a '96 Camry,$7K is awfully high....However where else are you gonna find a 54,000 mile Camry for $7K.So....is it a good deal on a '96..no.Is it a good deal on a 54,000 mile Camry..you bet !
