1997-2002 Mercedes E320 (remote key fob)?

Question

How many people have 1997-2002 E320? Do your key remote have good signal to the car...or do you have to be 1-2 feet close for the car to pick up the signal?

I do......I've replaced the batteries in the remote but it still doesn't work distance from the car...it only works when I get 1 to 2 feet by the car..what is the problem..what could be wrong?

2002 e320 !  THE CAR DIES AND I MUST USE THE KEY TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOOR TO GET THE CAR TO START AGAIN. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A SHORT IN THE SECURITY SYSTEM AS I SUSPECT?

i have a problem in the transmission..my car is e320 2001 ..sometimes it doesnt switch to tiptonic..and today i felt that i am walkin on the 2nd gear while its shown D on the screen..can u help?

Remote-key died on me & I've replaced batteries. Still not responding. Where can this key be tested. I've tried everything in the guidelines. Apparently costly to order & it takes +- 3weeks to get.one. MB C250 Turbo-Diesel.
