I Have a 1997 K1500 (4x4) Suburban. It only gets about 6-8 miles per a gallon. I am aware that it could be the fuel injectors but I don't think it is. I recently had it rebuilt and was wondering if it could of been put together wrong. Like there could be something wrong with valves and such. Please give recommendations. And don't say have diagnostics test or anything.

  1. hahahahaha Chevy sucks

  2. this is to lolzimja... dont dis wat u cant afford

  3. Mileage is low, but you don't say that the vehicle is stock, how you drive it, how recent the build was.

It will take some time to break in the motor, during that time mileage could increase slightly. You could easily also have poor valve seals or a leaky injector. You could have the injectors pulled and checked/replaced.

In my '97 GMC k15 pickup (also 4wd) I avg 12-14 city and I'm nice to it. Truck weighs 5800-6000lbs. So we have about the same weight.

  4. Dude, what kind of mileage are you expecting from that tank? and a 4x4 at that? I thought that was about right in that those things got the mpg of a semi- transfer truck.

  5. anything is possible with a rebuild. Check injectors for leakage. If the obd2 is working it should give you a check engine lite for problems such as rich or lean
