Hi All,

I am planning to buy my second car and I got 2 options with me and I am confused that which one I should opt.

1. 1997 Toyota Camry LE 144K miles - 3500 USD - Private Party. As per the private party, I may need to change tires..

What do you think, how many miles more I can drive this car??

2. 2000 Buick LeSabre 77K miles - 5000 USD - Dealer

Everything works fine, New Tires, clean and leather.

Please suggest, which one I should buy?

  1. $3,500 is a good price for the 1997, but I don't recommend buying a car older than a decade. It just promises headaches and imminent repairs/accidents. Plus, you need to change the tires?

$5,000 for the 2000 is also a good deal. New tires included! It's only 8 years old and has half the miles compared to the 1997. But like you stated, it's an American car. Personally, I would keep looking because they both offer potential issues.

  2. depends what you like they are two totally different cars.

  3. Don't buy the Toyota.  Although toyotas are very reliable, it has 144,000 miles on it already.  I would buy the 2000, it's newer.  Is it a certified used car?

  4. Both are good cars with much life left in them. If it was me I would  purchase the one which came down the most on their asking price.
