1998 Suzukii SideKick JLX 4X4 rear door latch problem.

I just purchased this little SUV and it runs great. However, the rear door latch is broken and will not open. I have been told that this is common issue with these vehicle. Nevertheless, I can not figure out how to get inside the door to repair this problem. Any suggestions??
