i have recently bought a 1998 vw jetta vr6 2.8 and im really excited to fix it up and get it on the race tracks soon. but my problem is that it doesnt seem to wanna start . the check engine light doesnt even light up. my father and i think it might be a alarm system that doesnt allow us to start the car or something electrical.my father knows ALOT about motors but not much about the electricity of the car. the motor does work because we tested it but it wont completely start up the.. maybe a burnt fuse or wire??

if any ideas witch fuse or wire please be detailed

IF HAVE ANY IDEAS WAT IT COULD BE IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANKS-- plz only answer if u actually have an idea wat it could be thanks

  1. ok, i had the same problem with my car twice. I drive a honda civic. Its not very detailed in what your saying is happening. Like is the car turning and all that. But I have two solutions for the problems.

If the car is turning? if it is and won't start it could be that your distrubuter is dead.

If you put in the key and turn the thing, it will crank, but notice if any of your dash board lights, light up. The usual things that suppose to light up before you crank. Like the enginge light, brake light, oil light.  If its non of that my friend, then its your ignition switch. Which is the thing that you put your key in that gives it power.
