Alright I recently just inherited a BMW 740i with 165000 miles on it and it drives great other than the turning. Is there anything I can purchase to help out the handling that wouldn't be incredibly expensive? I have to turn the wheel almost completely just to turn left, making u-turns are a pain.

  1. The power steering boxes in thoes cars and other BMWs of thoes years are failing left and right.  (LOL) You need a replacement box..

  2. Provided your power steering level is OK, and since you are not complaining of hard to turn steering wheel, then there is nothing you can do.

E38's like your car really have this characteristic. Since the effort needed to turn the steering wheel is not your concern, but the extent of the turn of the steering wheel, there is nothing wrong with your car.

To get what you need, trade-in your old car for a newer one with a more favorable steering wheel ratio.
