Is buying a 1999 Suburban with 178,000 miles a practical option? The body and interior are in great shape, but is it too many miles?

  1. I agree with Lost.Coz but there are some other things as well. The 1999 Suburban came with a 350 (5.7L) V8, which has been one of the best engines that GM came out with. They are very easy to maintain, most of the parts are cheap and they can be overhauled and worked on easier than most other SUV's.

Even though it has 178,000 miles on it, as long as the maintenance has been kept up on and there are no active leaks and the fluids look ok, I would say go for it!

  2. you might go to the shop often after 200,000 miles

  3. It all depends on how much you're buying it for, how it runs, if the previous owner kept up on the maintneance. There's alot of factors to look at when buying a car with that many miles. But USUALLY, chevy trucks are really good and dont have much problems so long as the maintenance is kept up.
