1999 raleigh r500 road bike.?

i found a Raleigh r500 road bike for sale. the seller says the only issue is that it has no wheels. they are asking 250 for the bike. i has triple Tiagra/Sora. is this a good buy? it does fit me. also how much would i have to shell out for a decent set of wheels?

I probably wouldn't buy it WITH wheels for $250. You could get a set of wheels that would match the bike in quality for about $150. Then, tires $20 a piece or more. Tubes $5 a piece. Rim stips and skewers if the wheel don't come with.

250 + 150 + 40 + 10 + ? = $450

Opps, forgot the cassette, that's another $50, total is $500 now for a bike that cost around $600 9 years ago.
