I really have had no problems with this car until recently. Sometimes when I start the car it idles rough but only until the engine warms up. Additionally, sometimes the engine seems like it has 10 bhp or so when I accelerate. It will do that for about 4or 5 seconds. I will drive in my subdivision and at the end of my subdivision I'll come to a stop (stopsign). When I try and turn and accelerate it seems like there is only 10 bhp. What could the problem be?

  1. Check it's maintenance history. Driving it while it's running rough will cause excessive drive train wear.

  2. Are there any noises when turning? Check your Drive Axles going to your Front tires to your transmision. Jack the vehicle off the ground, using jacks, see if you see any signs of grease coming out of your axle boots, and if there are noises. Also see if the brakes in the front are fully being released, that the brakes are in good order. Its a start, Good Luck.

  3. sounds like the only problem with your car is it needs a complete tune-up, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, gas and air filter, and if its fuel injected, clean it out with throttle body cleaner and throw in a bottle of good fuel injector cleaner, all that stuff should make a difference.

  4. Have you done routine maintenance?

Check spark plug wires to see if they are brittle, see link http://www.nascar.com/2008/auto/cct/02/2...  Could be losing spark.  Check condition of spark plugs, see link http://www.sa750.com/plugs/plugs.htm.

When did you last change fuel filter?

  5. Its time for a new car sell it for 500 bux
