you start with one female cat. this cat has kittens every 6 months. each time she has kittens, she has 2 girls and 2 boys. if every girl cat has kittens every 6 months, and they each have 2 girls and 2 boys each time, how many cats will you have after 2 years??? this has been bugging me all day. i got an answer but my friend got something different. i just want to see what other people get. don't forget the original cat has kittens every time!!

I haven't figured out the math, but this is a good example as to why there is pet overpopulation problem in this country and so many innocent animals get put down every year.
