Question:

1st child in kindergarten!?

My first child is about to go into pre k and I want to know if it was a hard ajustment from pre k to kindergarten.

  1. I think it made it easier for my child to go to Kdgt.  They seem to have a head start on everything.  Plus if it is in the same school district, they will end up seeing others that they know and feel comfortable with.  Our Pre K was in a different school building and at the end of the year they even took the kids over to see and tour the "big" school so they were not so frightned on the first day.


  2. I think that pre-k makes it a smooth adjustment for a child to go in to kindergarten because they are used to the structure of how class goes.  They only thing that will be different is if they don't have nap in kindergarten, but they do in pre-k.  I would do some research on the structure of the kindergarten class and see if you can find a pre-k class that is a similar structure for easy transition

  3. Pre-K makes it easier for the child to transition in to Kindergaten. Don't worry:)

  4. Not in my experience.  The transition was pretty smooth for both my kids.
