  1. Go with whichever one is cheaper. You may have more fun with the travel buddy then alone.

  2. On most lines you pay full price for 2 people in a cabin, even if only 1 goes. Most also have a 90 day refund period, so even if you paid- you could refund at this point.

So, go with a friend, or cancel and get a refund...

  3. I had a similar situation this fall.  We had a great Mediterranean cruise booked, and then something MASSIVE happened at my husband's work.  He absolutely, positively couldn't go.

We decided I'd go anyway (it was a week beforehand, no chance of a refund, etc.).  So I started calling my friends to see who'd like to come along.  One of my good friends was able to come, and we had a great time.

In general, I think you might feel lonely if you go alone.  Most people go in pairs.

That said, you should only go with somebody you like and travel well with.  Since you'll be sharing a cabin it matters if s/he snores, or is super-messy, or gets on your nerves.

Maybe talk to your friends / siblings / relatives, and see if someone you like can take the time off?
