  2. What a great choice for a 1st holiday, and the children will love it.   For them you have the beach and Sealife Centre, which is situated in the beautiful Marina.   In the Marina itself, you have plenty of shops, and the children can feed the thousands of fish which jump out the water at the sight of bread.   You also have Tivoli World and the Cable car to the mountain top, where there is a terrific display of birds of prey.   The icing on the cake for children of their age will be Paloma Park, where there is a lovely lake, fountains, animals running free, other animals in an enclosure, a large cactus park, childrens play area, and all for FREE.  There are two cafe/bars in there also.   There are plenty of small shops along both the main road and the impressive promenade, which run parallel with each other.   The better shops are to be found in Arroyo de la Miel, which is the commercial part of Benalmadena, and a lovely area where again you will find a childrens playpark.   This is also where the railway station is situated and, indeed, Tivoli World.    Depending on where you are staying, and considering the walking abilities of your in-laws, there is a land train and "orange" bus service which runs between the Marina and Tivoli World, stopping at various stops on route.   Away from the sea front, it should be said that Benalmadena is hilly but such is the efficient and cheap local transport that you can easily overcome this.   On Friday's there is a large market in Arroyo and a mini market, on Wednesday's, at the top end of Paloma Park.   I could go on and on, as I love Benalmadena and the surrounding area but will leave you with a link, which is very informative and well worth looking at.   Have a great holiday and adventure for the children.
