  1. e-mail me direct on thursday night.....

i will pick the card for you....bwj1963@yahoo.com

  2. buy the racing post on the day and check out what the proffesional tipsters have gone for.

i would give u a tip but im poor at picking a winner.

  3. First off, know the terms of your bet.

If you are backing each way for some races you'll get 1/4 of the odds for a place, for others 1/5.

Sometimes it's not worth backin each way if the price is not big enough.

Also make sure you know how many places will be payed on your chosen race.It coul be 4,3,2 or win only.

If your not sure about any rules just ask someone.

Don't forget if you back a horse which is a non-runner or is withdrawn before going under starters orders you get your money back.

If you get some tips, don't go mad on 'Maiden' races stick to smaller stakes on these.(A race where non of the horses have won before).

Stan Steer on Channel4 teletext p572 usually gives a few winners.

When you look at the racecard after the horses name there may be letters in brackets, look out for:

    (C) Has won at that course. (D) Has won at that distance.

(CD) Has won at that course and distance. Have a look at horses with (CD)

Before you place a bet decide whether or not to take a price. If the odds are getting bigger you're probably best not taking a price.

Watch where the moneys going if you see a horses price getting shorter have a look. This means lots of people are backing it.They're not always right of course.

Also try a 'Placepot' Pick one horse in each of the 1st 6 races and if all 6 place you'll get a share of the pot.

Could be small, could be huge and it only costs a quid.

Lastly have fun! don't forget a good few 'coincidence' bets on names that you like.Big price horses do place.(I had Mr Burton e/w at 200/1 whch came third last week.)

    Good luck!

Ask again nearer the day and you may get more tips as people will have the racecard.

  4. my tip...............dont listen to the so called tipsters!

go with your gut have some fun, and enjoy!
