  1. It depends on a lot more information!  Is this a walking 1 year old?  If so, it might be nice to play outside (if you have a safe and secure area where neither child can get hurt or run off).  A plastic shovel of some old measuring cups could be fun for the 6 year old to dig in a garden or sandbox if you have one.  Drawing with chalk is something all my kids love to do.  The older ones will draw houses with "furniture" for the little ones to play in.  Or just draw silly faces on the driveway or sidewalk.  If it's hot, you might ask if it's okay to turn the sprinkler on for a little bit.  The 6 year old would probably have a ball and the 1 year old might enjoy getting wet too - you never know with a 1 year old!

Kids love forts or "special places."  As a parent forts drive me crazy.  But, kids do love to take pillows off sofas, pull chairs around, put sheets over them, get out a folding card table and drape a sheet over it and make a cozy reading nook or stuffed animal home.  Just try to encourage the 6 year old to help put things back together afterwards!

It's very important for you to check your house over for safety.  If you've not had a baby living in your house for awhile, do some quick childproofing:

*no cords from curling irons, toasters, appliances reachable by baby

*no sharp items, markers, pens or pencils accessible by baby

*put away glass knick knacks to a different place until baby goes home

*shut the doors to rooms where you don't want the children to go

*get down on your hands and knees and check out the areas where you will be with the baby to look at things from a different perspective - do you see attractive things that could be dangerous for a baby who is curious and might pick things up, stick something in a socket, etc?

    Good luck today!

  2. you shouldnt worry too much about the 6 yr old.  just make sure you keep a close eye on the litle guy.  keep him in some kind of secured chair or in your arms, dont just let him crawl around (if he can)  maybe play a board game with the 6er, or whatever toys he/she has.

  3. Don't eat LSD if they leave a turkey out for your to put in the oven. You'll inevitably pop the kid in there, the parents will come home and you'll be all "The turkey's in the oven". It won't be as fun as it sounds.

  4. don't feed them too much sweets, and just go watch t.v or something or play in the backyard, to kill time. cause 3 hrs is as you said not very long XD.
