This chemical is said to be effective in the control of swallow wort, an invasive planet currently overrunning areas on the shore of lake ontario.

I need to find an herbicide that uses this chemical as a main ingredient. Can anyone provide a name or a website that will help?

  1. i understand it is approved for use on lawns. you might need permission to use it near a watercourse, you would in the u.k.

  2. The generic name for 2,4 dichlorophenoxyacetic acid is 2,4-D.  Here are some trade name products that contain 2,4-D.

    Aqua-Kleen, Savage, Weedone, Lawn-Keep, Estone, Crotolin, D 50, Ded-Weed LV-69, Farmco, Miracle, Weed-B-Gone, Vergemaster, Salvo.

Here is a website with a more complete list.

  3. you must read the label to see if it registered for that plant and even if it is unlikely it would be legal to apply less that 50 feet from a water source
