  1. It is in the mid range of a mild prescription for myopia (nearsightedness).  1-3 diopters is considered mild, 4-6 diopters is moderate 7 diopters or higher is usually severe or extreme depending on where you read it.  The scale is a little different for farsightedness.

The prescription is not bad or good, it is what places the image on your retina so you can see distance objects clearly.

    Hope this helps!

  2. mine is the same but -2.25 in one eye, so thats worse than yours but i never wear my glasses. so thats not too bad

  3. well you need glasses, but your not legally blind

  4. The power (diopter) you have in your glasses is not important. What counts is your visual acuity.

What would you like :  -2,00 in both eyes having a bad visual acuity or -10,00 having a good visual acuity.? Did you understand?

If you have a high myopia you have to go to an ophthalmologist in order to have your retina checked because of the danger of retinal detachment.

  5. Mine is -3.5, you still need glasses though

  6. mines -4, and i its KINDA bad...

i go out normally, see people, read  stuff, but need to get a bit close..

    so, no, not that bad

  7. It warrants visual correction in form of glasses and/or contact lenses. You should not be worried though it is not a big prescription. Dependent on how old you're (younger the better) short sightedness can often improve to the point where glasses may not be needed all the time as your vision stabilizes.
