  1. Not all birds talk, even if they are supposed to.  I have a 13year African Grey that says very few words.  He can speak but chooses not to.  I also have a Goffins Cockatoo that usually is known for not talking that much and he talks and talks.  Birds don't come with a guarantee to talk.  Just love him for himself, maybe in time he will.

  2. Hello.

I have 2 cockatoos ( one is medium crested and one is goffin )  are talking with my accent ( they talk just like me . ) All I do is ...when I am in the birds room , I talk to all of them ...in 3 days from then on ...my toos said ...My baby , Good morning _ and their name _ Good night _ and their name _ Uh oh ( every time they drop a peanut ) and they say their name ...then they said ...is a good boy ...( or girl ) so there ...they talk quite a bit , because every day I talk to them for 4 years now . ( Ofcourse I stop doing the bird chores  from time to time and hold them, kiss them and say a few new words to them . Good luck !

  3. take it 2 a vet

  4. They are able to talk but you have got to spend most all  your waking hours saying the words you want them to say over and over again. Otherwise they only make ring neck noises.

  5. I had one for several years (along with several other parrots) and the bird never talked even though I spent

several hours a day. In the end I had one Parakeet that said dozens of words and phrases; two Cockatiels that said a few words, Quakers that did not talk (they have been known to talk at 6 weeks! Not mine!), one Amazon that says 'Hello', and another that says hundreds of words and mimics perfectly. The Amazon that talks can imitate perfectly after hearing one time. But, as the other comment said, it depends. They talk if and when they want to. Not all are guaranteed to talk. You see, you can not make the parrots change and do what you want just because you want. They actually stay wild and we learn to conform to them. (if you know what I mean.)

  6. If you mean talking as in actual works like some parrots do then doves do not talk.  If you mean it is suddenly unable to make the normal dove vocalizations then take it to an avian vet as it may be indicative of an underlying problem
