i have 2 dual 10" subs right now, hooked up to an 800 watt amp. i am looking for some more bass. i found a MTX 12" sub in a ox for $35 on craigslist. would i be better off with one 12 or two 10's?

  1. get 2 mtx and upgrade to 1500 watt lol

  2. well considering you say "more base" i would have to say the 2 tens is more effecient, especially if they are in the band pass box. however, i would rather own the mtx, it will simply sound alot better. and a 12" will go lower, even if not as loud.

dual is a low end brand, but that means their sound quality and durability are not great, but for volume, the 2 tens may be a bit louder. regardless the difference would be minimal assuming they are both in the correct enclosure.

  3. Get the 12" and bridge the amp. or do it like me i got a 1000w amp and a 15" sub and it got good bass =)

  4. 1 MTX is undeniably better than 2 duals.

  5. Dual is like the lowest level subs around.. walmart brand. MTX is alot better
