alright so I have this set up

105 amp stock alt.

big 3 upgrade

yellow top optima

0 gauge wire all around

MTX 81001 cea- rated 1500 watts but it is measured at 2000 watts.

so I had before 2 1000 watts subs with this set up and honestly it sounded way below the level of 200o watts

people told me that in order to obtain 2000 watts I needed

an H.O alternator.......I tried on getting a good H.O but after 2 tries I got tired of looking for that.

so I was told that my amplifier at the most was giving 1000 watts due to my alternator so I decided to change my subs I chose 1 15" 500 watts kicker cvr and my system was sounding clean and tight bass for only one sub.

I was running this single sub at 2 ohms so I said if I like the sound of one I will love the sound of two if I wire them at 1 ohm I will be set.

so I added the second sub and it was noticeable one sub hitting strong and loud bass, two sounded even weaker!!!!

is this my alternator? does not have the power??

  1. the best way to tell is at night when you r jamming. if your headlights dim you need to add a second battery, capacitor or a stronger alt. 2 me yur amp has no balls.

  2. if the lights aren't dimming, you have bad Amp which is not able to play OK in 1Ohm load. Most of amplyfiers has overrated specifications, and when they write it can handle 1Ohm, it can only mean that it will stay alive. nothing more...
