  1. it will fit we put one in a 93 had fo fab headers to clear the stearing shaft make our own mounts and notch the oil pan for the cross member but on a 89 i dont think you will have as much fab work.

  2. No its not easy, but it can be done.

    Jegs has kits:  http://www.jegs.com/p/Trans+Dapt/744118/...

Also you may need to change transmission (new transmission lines) due to the V6 trans not being able to handle the torque of the V8.  You'll need a larger radiator, new motor mounts, heavier shocks, new rear end to name a few.

Another problem may be smog laws and the legality of swapping an early model engine into your car.

  3. yeah def. change the tranny my buddy did a v6 to 350 swap in his 81 camaro and the tranny blew in about 3 months

  4. It will fit with no problem but you will need the V8 motor mounts and get yourself a turbo 350 tranny and that way you can disconnect the computer.

  5. it depends what you want to do. Its not hard just takes a lot of work and patience. the wiring harness and the exhaust will need to be changed. the front springs will also. because of the weight difference. and motor mounts.

  6. All of the answers before mine are valid. Just make sure the engine frame members are secured to the uni-body floor. These are under the car below the front seats where the engine frame is secured to the car by bolts through rubber bushings. If they are worn or loose, the extra torque and weight can pull the car apart.

  7. yes, you could.  But you u will need to change your transmission, diferencial.  So I would say that could be hard work and if  have the time.
