What would sound better with my mtx thunder elite 601d amp rated at 600W at 2 ohms.....one 10" Alpine Type R with a max rms of 500W or two 10" Alpine Type S with a max rms of 300W each adding up to 600W? which setup would give me more tight and acurate bass?

  1. If you were to go with two type -s  subwoofers, you'd either have to wire it at a 1 ohm load or a 4 ohm load. Your amplifier can't handle 1 ohm stable, and only produces 300 watts rms at 4 ohms. If you go with one type -r you can wire it to handle a 2 ohm load which is when your amplifier is most powerful. You'll over power the subwoofer, but you can always turn it down.

  2. I'd Go With The 2 Type S Subs They Both Would Be Fully Powered Plus Of More Surface Area Will Make Them Louder Instead Of Having 1 Sub.
