2 Computers Different internet Speed?

Question

I have dsl 3mb..................... i have a modem and a linksys router both of the computers connect to it with wires but one computers download speed is only 1650 kb/s and the other one is 2550 kb/s why is the other computer missing like 1000 kb/s ? I checked the wires length it made no difference can someone explain?

Processor speed...RAM....Harddrive writing speed....System configuration.....Malware....Virus...Spy...

Any combination of these are going to give you a difference in speed.

Have you tried each computer individually?

the network cards you are using might be limmited to certain speeds thats why you see the differents i suggest you change your network cards.

one pc might have a slower  Ethernet  port or your router is putting out a slower speed on the port that  the computers is plugged in to
