2 Parts to an R4?

Hi, um I was just wondering, my friend told me that to use a R4 you need a memory chip and the r4 card. Is this true? Because most online sites just sell an R4 Chip and when you buy the chip and the card its $40 each so I don't wanna pay double for something I don't have to :(. Thanks!

The "memory chip" your friend is talking about is called a "Micro SD" card.

Buying an R4 set with or without the Micro SD card depends on you. Do you already have a Micro SD card that you're not using? Do you think you can get a better quality one cheaper than the one in the set?

If you plan on buying the SD card seperately, the R4 only handles cards up to 2Gb, so make sure you don't go over that memory size.

If you're unsure about what the heck I've been talking about, just get the R4 set that comes with the Micro SD card.
