  1. For 4.99 a month you can get a call ring which will give you a short ring for the first number and then 2 short rings for the call ring number, better than paying all that money for a separate line.

I had 3 lines  1 for the house and then one for my 2 kids and each had a different ring,so you know who it is for.

  2. It is possible to have two phone lines in one house.  I'm not completely sure if it's possible to have a different service provider though - I can't really see why not though.  Call the phone company you're thinking about going with and ask them - call ATT and ask them as well if you'd like as well.  Prices vary depending on the phone wiring of your house (where jacks are, etc) - so ask this when you phone as well - or send the phone companies an email, that may work as well.

  3. yes it cost money

  4. You can. However when adding a line, it's not your own line, It's just distinctive ring.  You can have your own line for as low as 9.99 a month and be able to make free calls to your friends anywhere from Canada, Puerto Rico and Hawaii or anywhere in United States.
