  1. you could grow montbretia indoors but i have not heard any body doinbg so. the reason being is that they are very rapid growing and spreading into new bulbs, they also grow quite tall mine in the garden are at least 36inches in height so you would need to have the right place to site them indoors. secondly they like to be in full sun during their flowering time.

the question regarding the dump is dependent on the ownership of the site. if they are growing wild im sure if you asked there would no problem in digging them up, i would suggest digging them up later in the year around the end of september would be better when they start to build up strength for winter.

  2. its elegal to take anything out of a dump  so just make sure knowone sees you

  3. You probably could keep them indoors, but I have never know any one do so. I have them in both my gardens and it grows like wildfire. Every year I pull loads out as it tries to take over. Ask at the dump if you can help yourself, no one will probably care. If it's an unmanned tip just go help yourself. Have a look at this link : http://www.gardenersnet.com/bulbs/crocos...

  4. Yes you can.  I researched on the web.  This is what I found:

Please note that the Zones listed above are USDA Hardiness Zones and are only given as a rough indication of whether a plant will grow and thrive in your area. Temperature variations and unusual weather conditions can affect plant survival. To assist plant survival during the winter, you may wish to place mulch over the areas in question or plant the flowers in an area away from walls or cement. Additionally, digging up bulbs and roots to overwinter indoors may be preferable to keeping them in the ground.

Just make sure you give them the right amount of light and water they need to thrive.
