2 Syrian hamsters??

Question

Ok my dad went to a gas station one day and the owner of the gas station gave him 4 Syrian hamsters for free. Well they got along and the only thing that went wrong was that my 2 year old killed one of my hamsters when i was at school and she is not allowed to hold anymore hamsters. But anyway 3 days ago when I came home from the lake we found Cookie 9my hamster) daughter bell died her stomach at frist we thought a rat killed her but none of the other hamsters was harmed and we didn't find a dead rat body in the cage. I look online and found out that Syrian hamsters like to live alone and will fight eachother to the death territory. My dad doesn't get paid until Friday and we have no money for another cage.......What should I do?????????????

WOW.. i dont know whats more retarded, the fact that the man gave you  4 hamsters or the fact that he didnt tell you anything!! well, they NEED water bottles so go and get some like NOW lol. as far as the seperation goes, find some storage bins , the plastic kind with lids. there you go!!=]

put something in the middle of the cage to separate into two halves. keep it this way until another cage is affortable.

I had sad story...

I was keeping my 2 Syrian hamsters together in one cage it they were fine for couple weeks or even longer. One was male, another one female.  Female got pregnant and gave birth... it was so cute until I was her eating all the babies... But this is not it...  One day I came home and I saw that male hamster ate the female...(all inside of her)... It was tragedy for me... I'll remember that forever...

SO...  Keep them separate no matter what... :(

Just put a piece of glass in between them or even sometimes wood... wood should be 1/2 inch thick
