  1. I live near Edison NJ and there was a warning yesterday afternoon regarding a tornado.  But that warning was triggered by sever thunderstorms that produced some areas of rotation.  I am not aware of any actual tornado touchdown.  These things sometimes happen in New Jersey but it isn't like in the Mid West.  Often after an event like this it takes several days of investigation of damage to determine if it was a tornado or not.  Often it is actually a "micro burst" that causes localized damage.  I did not hear much about damage last night.

  2. No. No tornados hit Edison, New Jersey. They just said that because they found some rotating storm areas that had the potential to actually trigger a tornado, but there was no tornado. The warning wasn't in effect for that long. If it was longer meteorologists could have found a tornado that developed due to rotating storms. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
