  2. -It is first and foremost a type of worship that everyone, from Adam to Muhammad (Peace be upon them all) had to perform.

-Constant Rememberance of Allah (unlike other religions that do it once a week).

-The word Salah comes from the root word "Sila", which means "to connect". Hence, Salah is our connection to Allah (SWT).

-"Surely prayer keeps [one] away from indecency and evil; and certainly the remembrance of Allah is the greatest [force] and Allah knows what you do" (Quran 29:45)

-Gives us an opportunity to spiritually leave the dunia and be with our Creator.

  3. [6:162] Say, "My Contact Prayers (Salat), my worship practices, my life and my death, are all devoted absolutely to GOD alone, the Lord of the universe.

[6:163] "He has no partner. This is what I am commanded to believe, and I am the first to submit."

[20:14] "I am GOD; there is no other god beside Me. You shall worship Me alone, and observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) to remember Me.

    FOR HELP

[2:45] You shall seek help through steadfastness and the Contact Prayers (Salat). This is difficult indeed, but not so for the reverent,

[2:153] O you who believe, seek help through steadfastness and the Contact Prayers (Salat). GOD is with those who steadfastly persevere.

[5:12] GOD had taken a covenant from the Children of Israel, and we raised among them twelve patriarchs. And GOD said, "I am with you, so long as you observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and believe in My messengers and respect them, and continue to lend GOD a loan of righteousness. I will then remit your sins, and admit you into gardens with flowing streams. Anyone who disbelieves after this, has indeed strayed off the right path."

    MOST IMPORTANT OBJECTIVE

[29:45] You shall recite what is revealed to you of the scripture, and observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), for the Contact Prayers prohibit evil and vice. But the remembrance of GOD (through Salat) is the most important objective. GOD knows everything you do.

to be certain that there is day of judgement, and to meet Allah Allmighty, and salvation,,,

@@ why would any one give thumbs down to sweetprincess !! how callous and jealous people could be to give thumbs down to a beautiful prayer,,shame on you who so ever did it

  4. It gives you your own relationship with God.

Its a way of forgetting about everything and turning to God.

Not to mention, its the 2nd most important pillar of Islam.

  5. God has already clarified the issue:

004.103 When ye pass (Congregational) prayers, celebrate Allah's praises, standing, sitting down, or lying down on your sides; but when ye are free from danger, set up Regular Prayers: For such prayers are enjoined on believers at stated times.

    Al-Qur'an, 004.103 (An-Nisa [Women])

029.045 Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.

    Al-Qur'an, 029.045 (Al-Ankaboot [The Spider])

  6. I beg for forgiveness for my sins, all of them words, thoughts and deeds. And I thank God for the blessings he has bestowed on me, ones that I take for granted and ones that are big in my life. And I also ask to be blessed with a healthy baby in my womb.

So I guess, to be honest, out of my prayers I hope to get forgiveness, have God accept my thanks for all of my blessings, and to have my home and marriage blessed with a healthy baby.

  7. It is the first obligatory duty on Muslims like it or not,

Just like our body needs food to servive our Rooh (soul) need food too & that comes from Salah & zikr(remembarance of Allah).

We must learn how to solve all our problems through salah there is not one thing but it should include every single aspect we need in life. I shoul make the intention of doing my duty sincerly for him & he is a great rewarder.

May Allah make our salah beautiful with the passing days of our life & keep us on it till our last breath..
