At the moment they have a single bed each in the same rom, but its getting tight for space, as the bedroom isn't big enough for the beds and toys etc.

I have a few questions for you:

1-What type of bed could i get that will save space, should i go with bunk beds, or mid sleepers that you can put toys underneath?

2-What cool storage ideas could i use?

  1. I would get a kind of bunk bed that can change into a regular twin bed later on. I think getting a bunk bed would be getting more room in their bedroom.

  2. I have 2 boys that share a room i have bunk beds and toy box that go under the bottom bunk bed ikea have got some nice storage box's at the moment .

  3. Bunk beds.

  4. Bunk Beds...

  5. bunk beds, definitely.

and for cool storage ideas, try looking at some furniture from Ikea.

their products are inexpensive, well-made, and almost everything they carry doubles as storage.

they also have children-specific storage options, that can work in pretty much any child's bedroom

  6. I saw some very cool beds at Harvey Norman a few months ago. They were like loft beds (the ones that are just the top bunk with a desk underneath) but this one had a wardrobe, drawers, desk and bookshelf underneath it! It had stairs going up the side to get into the bed, and you could even lift the lid of the steps & there was storage in there too! They have to be the ultimate space saving beds! So depending on the size of the room something like that would be cool for them (and the beds at the top were fully enclosed so you wouldn't have to worry about the little one in it.)

Failing that, regular bunk beds would open up a lot of floorspace - or 2 of the loft type ones would provide plenty of space under.

  7. I'd go with the bunk beds as the older boy will be able to take the top bunk and the younger can take the bottom bunk you can get plastic boxes that are shallow enough to put under these kind of beds so you'd still be able to store toys under it. For the toys it's a good idea to get a tall shelving unit and put the toys in baskets/plastic boxes which can then be stacked on the shelves, their favourite toys could be put on the lower shelves so they can reach them easily, this way the toys are up out of the way instead of spread around the room, and the height of the unit will allow you to store more. Wall shelves are also great for getting toys and books up out of the way.

  8. I also have two boys, 6 & 10 sharing a small room.  In addition to bunk beds and under-the-bed storage, we also have a shelve that goes around the perimeter of the room near the ceiling to hold stuffed animals.  I also have an item that goes on the back of their closet door that has lots of different size pockets to store all their little "treasures".

  9. I'd definitely say bunkbeds. This way you are able to used the spare room from the other bed for storage. Ikea has some great storage unit for kids, a personal favourite of mine!!

  10. Get bunk beds i think, and you can get under bed storage compartments, me and my brother shared a room for years and we had these. they really helped. Also, make sure that the toys they have arent just being kept for the sake of it as they are taking up space for no reason and you could sell them.

    Good Luck

  11. definately bunk beds then you can use the extra space for storage

  12. the only problem i found with bunk beds is that my 2 boys constantly argued over who wanted the top 1, espesially as you little 1 gets a bit older! Ive ended up getting them both the same mid sleepers with storage underneath, you can in the uk get a slim shelving unit that goes all down the side of the bed with storage then underneath too, which i think is great, wish they had those when i was buying!
