Im a bit confused. im looking in 1881 and the family im looking at has 2 records?

  1. Where are you looking at, do you mean the same site is giving this information. ?


  2. Are they in the same place on both records?

    Were the records taken on the same date?

    I have one such instance in my family tree (1900 US census), where an ancestor was counted at home in Ohio in June, and also at a military station in Louisiana in an undated record.

  3. Perhaps the transcriber for the site put the information into the programme twice, or alternatively the family lived on a the border of two parishes,towns,or counties, and each enumerator submitted the census return twice.
