2 cms dialated~ when will i give birth!?

This is my first baby~ i'm almost 39 weeks and i had an appointment today and I am 2 cms dialated, my due date is Sept. 6,does any1 have any guesses when I will start labor? or give birth?

Could be days or weeks...no real way to tell.  I've heard you can be dilated and partially effaced for a while before actually going into labor.

well, there is no telling when you'll go into labor, but the good news is you are 39 weeks along, so you definatley know you don't have more than a week, mabye a few days over! early dilation is a good sign labor might come early, but nothing to get your hopes up on. just hang in there!

With my 3 kids, I dilated from a 1-2 over the course of a month and still hadn't gone into labor. In my own personal experience (and every one is different), full active labor hadn't started until I got to a 4, that was when it was 'baby time'. Congrats and good luck!

I am due sept. 6 too. I am 2cms dilated as well. I have had ALOT of pre-labor signs. Hopefully its not to much longer for either of us!

i had a friend that was 3cm dialated for 5 weeks

it just depends when that baby really wants

to come out for sure.

There is no way to tell until the contractions start. I am almost 38 weeks and dilated to a 2 as well.
