2 computers-2 internet modems-2 different ips?

Question

If I have one computer with a verizon modem ethernet thing in one room with a phone jack......then another computer with the same thing (NOT connected through a router) in another room with a phone jack.....would they both work.....and will the ip's be different?

If it is verizon DSL through your phone line you would need 2 separate phone lines in order for this to work.  Only one modem can work on any one phone line. If it is Verizon Wireless internet then you can use it anywhere.  But from the sounds of it it's DSL you're talking about.  And yes if you had both hooked up via 2 phone lines they would be seperate IP's.  

Your best bet would be to get a Router and run a line to both computers or get a wireless router and place it with one of the computers hook in an ethernet cable to the close computer then get a wireless usb adapter for your computer in the other room.  Good Luck HTH.
