Question:

2 fillings (soft spots?)?

tommorrow i have to get 2 fillings, but they aren't cavaties.. they are more of soft spots the dentist said. I'm so scared, will it hurt? last time i think i remember it felt like a tiny bit of pressure and like cold air... right? tommorrow i have to take a valium to calm me down and they are giving me laughing gas tommorrow, will i be ok for the rest of the day? will i be in any pain!?!?!??!!??!? please help me!!!

  1. If you are going to take valium, that may take a few hours to wear off.  The laughing gas effects will be gone within minutes of taking the gas away.

    As for the fillings, if they are small, you should be fine.  They likely will anesthetize the area, so you will be numb for a few hours after your appointment, but after the anesthetic wears off, you should be fine.  Sometimes the area they numbed is a little tender, but nothing to worry about.

  2. If the soft spots are very small which it sounds like the procedure should be almost painless. I don't think you will be in any pain the rest of the day.
