  1. You could put 1 ghost shrimp.

  2. One Ghost shrimp?  LOL!

You can put a 2-4 of these little fellows in there with him.  He may eat them eventually, but they are wonderful cleaners.

If you have a filter or air pump it will help a bit, but these guys are cheap and you can give it try.  If they die, you are only out .30 cents to $1 a piece.

    Best of Luck!

  3. You could probably put in 1-2 ghost shrimp but the betta may or may not eat them.  Pick out some bigger ones when you get them.  When one of my ghosties died my betta ate it before I could fish it out and some I just dont see again.

An even better cleaner than the shrimp is the mystery snail.  They dont very big but your tank may be a little tight. Bettas also dont see them as food.

  4. I keep my betta with red cherry shrimp and he's fine. The only difference is that I keep my betta in a 6 gallon tank and yours is only a 2 gallon. My betta is very docile, however, a betta's personality varies from aggressive to anything that gets near it to a calm, peaceful fish. If possible, try to upgrade him to a 5 gallon tank. I use the Eclipse 6 and I love it. The bigger the tank, the more hiding spaces for the shrimp. At my LFS ghost shrimp are .30 so I would try it ( go for about 4 ) If your betta decides they are lunch, it won't be much of a loss and a nice meal for the fish.
