  1. Is it very easy yaar actually u can put both hardisk in ur mother board. but 1st u can remove a jack from one hardisk then give the priority of harddisk. 1st hardisk u can give master and 2nd one give slave. then u can right click on my computer then select manage and then select device manager and u can detect ur both harddisk.

    .

    Thank u

  2. Check the jumper positions on your HDD's..

I think, if you just don't keep the jumper, the newer systems should automatically detect which is Primary and Secondary based on which IDE channel you connect them to. But if you connected both of them to the same IDE channel, then you'll have to set one as Master and the other as Slave. How to set these jumper positions is usually mentioned on the sleeve itself.

    HTH.

  3. i think you have given the same name to both the hard disk....first connect any one hard disk..assign a different alphabet  to it....

go to control pannel.....then to Computer Management  ...you get anew window............double click on storage ...aand then on disk management

    .................

right click on new hard disk...and click on change drive letter or paths....

and change the drive alphabet and then connect other derive...............hope your problem get solved

  4. set up jumper and go in bios setup

1st boot wid ... to which HDD want to boot

    2nd boot from other HDD

when u will start ur compter ... it will be found new hardware definatally

  5. check the jumper settings.. if u connect both the harddisks with the same cable, put one in master and one in slave.. it should work..

  6. first keep 160gb hard disk and connect it to motherboard...

then take 500gb hard disk and remove the small pin(jumper pin) of it.(see back side.)

now connect the 550gb to the same cable end...

    start ur computer.....

Important:  OS must be in 160gb...

bcoz ur selecting it as master

  7. your mother board is 845 then it should have sata port. You didnt tell your trying with sata or IDE. If sata no need to say master or slave. If IDE you should put old drive as Master and new as slave. First try with BIOS. There is a setting to enable secondary IDE channels under (Say) IO controller tab( or similar). You can also enter LBA, No. heads manualy if your Bios didnt detect. Finally check you have updated bios installed. Try this, lets hope for the best.

  8. Either the HDD is corrupted  with virus or the Mother Board is not compatable to these 500 plus 160 GB HDD. Consult a good Hardware Engineer
