I have a hard drive with xp installed on it. I want to buy a second drive and install vista 64 on it. If I install both hard drives and boot into vista, will I be able to access the data on my other hard drive that has xp installed on it?

  1. Yes, you can. The other hard disk can been used as storage too.

  2. Yes, you can do this.  You will also be able to boot into either operating system by changing the boot drive at start-up.

  3. yes, you can if you're a wiz in computers, you just need to change the format setting a little and tinker w/ the OS.

  4. Yes you will be able to without any difficulty (both drives will be formatted either FAT32 [XP maybe] or NTFS [Vista/XP]).  Vista can read NTFS and FAT partition types, so it will be able to read the other harddrive so long as it is hooked up.  Likewise XP will be able to read the Vista drive if you ever needed to.

You will also be able to boot XP at will by selecting the one time boot menu (normally F10 or F12 after you turn on your PC) and selecting the harddrive you would like to boot to.  If you have 2 different model harddrives that makes it easier to determine which drive has which OS.

  5. Yes.It will just appear the drive where you installed the XP and you can accessed it.

    good luck!
