he gets up at 6-7am and will go to bed about 8-9pm ...during the day i get him to nap for about 20 Minutes when i lay him down he gets right back up...he does not nap at all in daytime....!! i minimize the light coming into his room but it doesn't seem to matter

  1. hes is still really young and will still be settling in to the routine of sleeping .Give it a while and he might just start to settle in to his surrounding..dont forget he has been in your tummy for 9 months and suddenley he has to adjust to life outside to womb!

So my advice is to give him lots of oppurtunities to sleep but it might take a while for him to settle down into life , if he doesnt settle down ina few weeks go and ask a baby expert....

hope i helped =D caitlin xx

  2. Do you breastfeed? If not it will be tricky! I just let my daughter sleep after her feed and she will comfort suckle just to get to sleep...otherwise she probably wouldnt nap either.

See the wonders of breastfeeding :)

I suggest that if your worried he's not getting enough sleep, to just let him sleep while he's with you instead of him trying to get to sleep on his own in his crib.

My daughter will sleep all night long in her crib if she's fallen asleep with me and then been put there.. But if i try to make her sleep just by placing her in the crib....i wouldnt get any sleep either.

It is a little too young to make him have a routine, i think he will naturally just fall into one. Most likely your routine.

My daughter has a perfect routine, and has carried it since 8-10 weeks...so i must be doing something right along the way.

    Hope that helped!

    Good luck!

  3. Try a routine. When our little one was like that we did the same bedtime routine every night. We gave her a bath, warm bottle and then rocked her to sleep and she was out like a light. Another thing is , this works much better when babies are about 4 or 5 months and stay awake longer, keep baby out of the crib/bassinet until night night time so that he/she can recognize that when they are in there it is strictly for bedtime.

  4. Try music. Playing music to put my boy down works like a miracle. Then If I want him to stay asleep I have to keep playing that music.

Also routine is key. It will help him fall aslep better.
