2 month old growth timing?

son is 2 month old next week and i was just wondering what i should know about

feedings / time / how much should he be eating

what should he be doing?

What else can he eat if anything

  1. If you're breastfeeding, just breastfeed on demand. He doesn't need to be eating anything else, wait until he shows signs that he's ready (sitting up, reaching for food, etc) He'll go through growth spurts, so there may be days he'll be eating more than usual. Just go with the flow and don't stress yourself out trying to put him on a schedule :]

A 2 month old should be eating nothing other than breastmilk or formula.  Solids should not be introduced until 4-6 months of age.  As far as how much he should be eating, that varies from child to child.  At 2 months, my daughter was taking 3-4 oz of formula every 2-3 hours.  As a general rule of thumb, formula fed babies should be taking in 2 - 2 1/2 oz for each pound of bodyweight per day.  So, if your baby weighs 10 pounds, he should be eating between 20-25 ounces per day.  But like I said, every baby varies!  As long as he is happy and growing well, I'm sure you are doing a great job!
