2 month old son and a father who won't get up?

i have a beautiful 2 month old son called thomas. both me and my partner love him to bits and cant believe how lucky we are. he is very well behaved - slept through the night (12-8am) since 6 weeks old!!!

my life has changed totally - i used to be very work orientated and career driven. i have sacrificed a lot - but dont resent it at all - im loving my new life.

however, my partners life is pretty much the same as it always was. he works full time and still goes to the pub after work occasionally. he's always been one for staying up late - and during the week, comes to bed at 2-3am. at the weekends he sleeps in til at least midday or sometimes 2pm, leaving me to get up with my son at 8am and entertain him on my own.

i resent my partner for behaving like this, and when i mention it he tells me that im not his mum and dont tell him what to do.

has anyone else got a partner like this?

any advise?

  1. Yes exactly the same situation, my daughter is 16 months and he still does it. When he does get up, he never gives her no breakfast or will keep sending her upstairs to come wake me every 15 mins. The only time i have a lay in, is if she goes to stay with her nanny once or twice a month. It is so annoying, i do not live with the baby's dad now, i do everything so might as well be on my own. He stays occasionally at mine but he knows he has to get up when she gets up, he usually gets up and goes back to his probably to go back to sleep. I think most men are like this, seems quite popular problem. LAZY!!

  2. NO! but if I did have one like that, I would Throw him out of the house, until he new how to be a father.

  3. he is selfish my partner gets up and loves given my daughter breakfast  if you dont give him an ultimatum he will continue doing it and u will get really upset bout it
