  1. When we first got our little kitten, she was trying to climb up the car seat and get out, anything to get back where she was comfortable.  She kept hiding all over the place because she was in a new place she didn't know.  Just like your kitten.  By the third day she was happy as can be, and now she is a happy fat cat.

o_O We're still working on the fat thing.....

    I hope I helped!

  2. She's just a little scared right now because she's in a new place that she has never been before. Like the pet shop said, this is very normal.

Feed her some food and pet her, this might calm her down some.

Good luck with your new kitten. :)

  3. This is very normal. I had a cat that was very much loved member of the family who hid for the first 2 days we changed her name to Hidey

because that is what she did.

  4. its just getting used to being in your house when i  had my kittens witch are now cats they kept running upstairs and hiding under the beds and at night they would run bout the house its just a thing that kittens do and our ones didn't stop until 1or so months.

  5. Yes, it's normal.  She's in a new place that is strange to her, and she misses her mother and littermates.  She'll get over it in a few days.  Give her affection and she will bond with you as her new "mother."

  6. never had a cat, but i would think that my puppy's first few days would be similar to a kitten's.

Well first off pet shop yes?  pet shop animals are not always exactly fine, well for dogs they are harder to toilet train and they have a slight behavioural problem as they have to pee and poo very close to where they sleep which is unnatural for them.  Cats would probably not like being caged for so long and your kitten probably misses its friends in the petstore (assuming there were).  Or petshop freaked it out which is why it is so timid.

So its scared with a new person and no mummy, its a little sad.  Takes a few days for it to adapt.  With my puppy the first day all night non stop whining, it was incredibly hard to withstand (emotionally) .  Second day. Silence.  Why? well i waited til she fell asleep before i snuck off (she slept alone in garage). Never whined again unless she needs to pee.

So yes a few days and she'll be right, some love and space is all thats required.

  7. Fix her up a nursery in small room. That way she can get used to being in the new place and being with you without being overwhelmed by a large, open space. Play with her in the nursery and gradually allow her time out with supervision. It does take a few days to used to a new place but with this method she has less to get used to at a time.

  8. its perfectly normal...i have two kittens about the same age as yours, the meowing might be because they want food or water...or they just are being obnoxious, shes hiding for game or just because haha.so yea its normal and dont worry they will get better
