2 of 2 in as many starts, Rocket Twentyone is pumped up to take on rivals in the Alcibiades at Keeneland
Trained by Tom Howard for owner Frank Fletcher, Rocket Twentyone, the 2-year-old filly, was in fine fettle on the morning of 10 September, 2011, when she went on to bag her first graded stakes' win in the Grade 3 $100,000 Arlington-Washington Lassie at Arlington
Park.
It was all predicted by her jockey, Eusebio Razo Jr., when he first rode the filly, that she will go on to win the Grade 3 Arlington-Washington Lassie.
Rocket Twentyone, obliged with full throttle right at the end, won the one mile rave over Poly Track by half a length.
The daughter of Indian Charlie out of Symphonic Lady by Blare of Trumpets, Rocket Twentyone is likely to head to Keeneland for her next start to participate in the Grade 1 Alcibiades on 7 October, 2011.
The juvenile filly has come out of the race fine, and her connections have recognised that she is in fine form, thusly, they will prompt another start for the filly, and this time they are leaning towards the Keeneland feature race.
Rocket Twentyone broke her maiden in the Maiden Special Weight for thoroughbred 2-year-old fillies at Prairie Meadows on 12 August, 2011.
The filly went on to defeat the field of 9 juvenile fillies, and set brisk fractions throughout the race, and kicked clear four wide under jockey Eusebio Razo Jr., grabbing $15,765 as the winner’s share from the $26,500 pursed race.
Only in her second start, Rocket Twentyone in the Arlington-Washington Lassie was content to sit back and let the pace setter, Essence of Bubbles, who led the field through fast fractions, do her work.
Jockey E Razo was looking for some day light and when he got the desired space, he was able to speed up Rocket Twentyone to wear down Essence of Bubbles to prevail late and cover the one mile distance in 1 minute and 39.13 seconds.
The filly will be shipped directly to Keeneland, and after her emphatic grade 3 win, she is a serious candidate for the Grade 1 Alcibiades at Keeneland on 7 October, 2011.
