My rabbit doesn't naturally have black nails and he doesn't flinch when I cut his other nails but two nails on his back foot are black and he really doesn't want me to cut them. Could it be painful for him? If so, why? Does he have some kind of infection or am I being paranoid?

  1. I think you're being paranoid. Rabbits are uncomfortable with getting any of their nails cut, those are probably the two most sensitive. Be careful when cutting them though, not to cut them to low, this can cause you bun to bleed. Who knows, he may remember someone cutting those two nails too low and is afraid that you'll do that.
