  1. 4 stroke engines last longer than 2 stroke & are now nearly as competitive!

  2. if you get the kx 125 that will be ten times faster than a kx100

2 strokes make a lot more hp with much less displacement.  The only thing is the top end will have to be rebuilt about after every racing season.  It is not that expensive to have this done.  2 strokes also have a killer power band.  especially the 250's.  A 4 stroke is going to last longer but it will be a lot more expensive to fix when it does break.  2 stroke engines are a lot less complicated than 4 stroke engines.  4 stroke will also have more torque though.  If you do go with the 4 stroke get a bigger displacement like a 250 or bigger.  The kx 125 is also a tall bike so i would consider that as well.  If your racing and not doing enduro trails and stuff i would def go with the two stroke.  Trail riding 2 strokes tend to be a pain to ride on. good luck.
