  1. Bad numbers....you have to put your love for a long time devil aside and go younger....Goal scoring was a big problem last season, Rolston should help and Elias needs to regain his touch, Tedenby....who knows....small...with skill but the Devils have a lot of small players....my only question is durability????

  2. Sad to see Sarge go no doubt he was a Devil from day one> That being said thought this game is a job, and a job that he has slacked off at. 16 points and a -5 in 82 games, that is not playing up to par and it made sense to free up that money for someone who could hit the net or get a + rating.

As far as Tedenby he seems to have quite a resume' and hopefully will be in the line-up right away.

Yahoo.NHL has this to say about him "Mattias Tedenby, 5-10, 175, Sweden. The Devils struck gold with smallish, productive left wings like Brian Gionta and Zach Parise and feel they’ve done so again with the 18-year-old Swede. “Mattias is excellent on every shift,” said New Jersey direction of European Scouting Goran Stubb. “He has outstanding speed, stick work and work ethic. He is small but fearless.” Asked about the Devils’ defensive style, which tends to limit creativity, Tedenby said, “I think I can fix it.”

Sounds like the kind of player we seem to scout and find, let's just be sure to hang on him and not let him become a star for another team.

Something tells me that Anssi Salmela is gonna be a huge name on Defense between him, Bryce Salvador and Jonny Oduya I think we are gonna have a even stronger blue line this year too.

Hey troll...thanks for the thumbs down....prick!!!!

  3. Brylin was a Devil through and through and it's definitely tough to swallow the fact that he will no longer be a Devil. With that said, Lou made the right decision letting him go to free up cap space for more offensively productive players. I always felt he was a clutch player--- if we needed a goal and he was on the ice, he would always ace a breakaway to either tie or win the game for us in the remaining few minutes/seconds of the game. He hasn't been playing up to standards for the last few seasons and I think this past season was a make or break season for him when it came to Lou. In addition, as a long time fan, it sucks to see Brylin go, leaving Marty the olnly active Devil to have won all three Stanley Cups with the team.

As for Teneby, I know he is apparently a great offensive player with speed and skill---very much like Gio and Parise---as well as small. I'm not sure if his skills and talent are up to par with what Lou wants for the team---but if sent to Lowell, within a few years he'll be an amazing Devil. Definitely a great choice for the organization.

    Go Devils!

  4. Of course I think all Devils fans want him back because he has been such a main stay in the organization for years.  On the other hand though I think we might be able to do somehting with his position in the line up.  Don't get me wrong, he was the hardest working guy out there, but he wasnt putting up much numbers.  Players like Pandolfo and Madden who are always just as hard working started to put up decent numbers so they are a different story.  Brylin wasn't that expensive so he didn't clear much cap room for us to fill his spot with much, but I think if Lou can pull off someone decent for his spot then it will be worth it.

As you can tell I have mixed feelings on Brylin, but if it comes down to him or Pando, then unfortunately I would choose Pando.  I really hope we have a way of signing Brylin or at the very least that he finds a spot on another team.  With that said, Lou has to go fill his spot because until he does, the decision to get rid of Brylin was the wrong one.  Right now there isn't anyone taking his spot so I hope Lou gets moving soon.  Still I wish him the best of luck.

As for Tedenby, I have only heard scouting reports and what the rest of the league is saying and it would be an understatement if I were to say i am excited about him.  From what I hear he sounds like the next Parise with more speed.  That would be a blessing and I really hope he pans out.  With that said I know the Devils arent the best at having players like this work out in the system, but I think if he can learn the defensive aspect as well as keep with his offensive flare, we are going to be very very deadly with him in the line up.  Still a lot of unknowns, but I am finally happy with our draft selection free agency (which Devils fans can never say).  I especially think he is going to be a great player because there isnt one website that I have seen that hasn't listed the Devils as a winner in this years draft or free agency, and we know that never happens.  This makes me really confident and really excited.

  6. I agree.  As an outsider not emotionally attached to a long-time Devil like Brylin, I would say the best decision was to let him go.  He wasn't performing on offense, and was horrible defensively, something the Devils can't afford without Rafalski, Stevens, and Niedermeyer anymore.  You picked up guys that will more than compensate for Brylin's, and the Devils' in general, lack of offense.  If he isn't defensively sound as of late, I would say that's an area in which the Devils need to improve.  However, I don't know anything about Tedenby.

  7. I wish Brylin was back. Him, Rolstin and Holik line would have been pretty good. I still prefer him over Pandolfo (i dont really like Pandolfo). Im not sure who did better Brylin or Pandolfo, but Brylin has a presence on the team and was good with the Devils. Last season most the team did okay. Tedenby is from Sweden tied his U-18 team for the most points.
