2 poeple may look alike but geneticaly very different origin?

I heard on NG that two people may look very alike,

but still have very different forefathers dating back from very very long ago during evolution?

Genetically, humans have mostly the same DNA.  There is about 3% variance that causes the physical differences you see.  So technically, genetically, we are a lot alike!

there are definite 'types' of people, who look alike, my best friend is of no relation at all, but goodness me she looks so like my sister, more so than I do.  and my brothers ex wife looked just like the sister of his best friend....

I talked to a guy in high school for five minutes before I realized he was NOT my brother. I never figured out if we were distant relatives or not but it was weard.
